MADAWASKA, Maine – Patrick C. Franck went home to live with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 at the age of 84. He was born in Van Buren on Nov. 17, 1931 to Albert and Rosette Franck. Following an esteemed career as “#25” on the Van Buren High School basketball team, Mr. Franck enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Corporal during the Korean War and worked as a Radioman. Enduring three gunshots, Mr. Franck was Honorably Discharged from the Marines in 1954. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart with two Gold Stars, the U.N. Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. The State of Maine also awarded Mr. Franck the Silver Star in recognition of his sacrifice and valor. More than anything else, Patrick Franck devoted his life to his Lord, Jesus Christ. Mr. Franck was a faithful member of the Madawaska Gospel Church. Next to his beloved wife of 62 years, Gemma Marie, his most treasured companion was his King James Bible. Scores of highlighted passages and underlined commentary all inspired him to live a life of genuine character, love and humility. Patrick held his Bible through his very last days. In addition to his beautiful bride, Gemma Marie (Theriault) Franck, he is survived by his four daughters and sons-in-law, Lolita and Gary Sheperd, Susan and James Doucette, Elizabeth and Vincent Lucibello, Lori and Thomas Alexander; his cherished grandchildren, Gregory Lucibello and wife Teresa, Brian Lucibello and wife Sara, Gina Lucibello with Eric Smith, James Doucette, Jr. and Stephanie Doucette; and one great-grandson, Keaton Lucibello. Mr. Franck also leaves behind his siblings, Priscilla Violette, Jeannine DesJardins and Roger Franck. Memorial Services will be held 10 a.m. on July 5, 2016 at the Madawaska Gospel Church.
